The Big Picture –
By Glynn Wilson –

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Well, just as I was considering retirement from the news business, Donald Trump is running for president again, even as he faces multiple lawsuits over his character and business — and multiple indictments and charges for his behavior before, during and after his time as president.

What do you expect the American press and media will do about it? Treat him like the mob boss king he thinks he is and promote him, like they do on Fox News? Cover him with fairness and balance to make money off of his loyal base like much of the mainstream media? Or cover him and the rest of the federal government as it should be covered in the American tradition of Watchdog Journalism, going all the way back to the beginning when the press was granted special rights to cover public affairs under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?

Quite frankly I am not impressed with much of the news coverage of late, and now everyone is clammering to join another social media platform owned by Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. As I said on his Facebook, “Why on Earth would anyone join another social media platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg? The Justice Department should sue to shut it down, now!”

“What are you going to do with it? Just another place to share cat pics and stupid memes? It’s just another place to suck more advertising out of news, while burying the real news and promoting the fake news.”

We don’t need more social media. We need more well funded real journalism.

Who are you going to turn to?

We’ve hound-dogged Trump since he came on the scene at that first big stadium rally in Mobile, Alabama, and were the only press in the country that warned he had a real shot at winning the election in 2016.

We exposed his every corrupt move in the White House, and dogged him on the campaign trail in 2020 until a majority of the American people voted him down.

He could not live with losing, so he engaged in a seditious conspiracy and incited a violent insurrection to try to remain in power by preventing the peaceful transfer of power to take place on Jan. 6, 2021.

And he’s still pulling the biggest con in the history of cons, raising millions of dollars for his campaign and using the money for himself.

If you have an appreciation for this kind of honest, independent press — where we simply try to tell it like it is without pretentiousness, a paywall or popup ads — you can help keep us in business with a contribution through GoFundMe or PayPal or by purchasing a T-shirt through Bonfire.

Every dollar we raise goes to a national business account for an LLC and only pays for legitimate business expenses to keep the New American Journal up online and covering the most significant stories from the road. Thanks for all your support over the years. We could not have done any of it without YOU!
