Well, the Year of the Rat is over, and the Year of the Ox is here, as of Feb. 12, 2021, the Chinese lunar New Year’s Day.

In America, the Rat King Donald Trump has been dethroned, but not banned from running for public office again, and too many Republican rats are remaining on the sinking ship with him.

What can we expect from the Year of the Ox?

Those born under the sign are said to have an honest nature.

Oxes are known for diligence, dependability, strength and determination, supposedly traditional “conservative” characteristics.

Women Oxes are traditional, faithful wives, who attach great importance to their children’s education.

For male oxes, they are strongly patriotic, have ideals and ambitions for life, and attach importance to family and work.

“Having great patience and a desire to make progress, Oxes can achieve their goals by consistent effort,” the astrological forecast says. “They are not much influenced by others or the environment, but persist in doing things according to their ideals and capabilities.”

Before taking any action, Oxes will have a definite plan with detailed steps, to which they apply their strong faith and physical strength.

“As a result, people of the Ox zodiac sign often enjoy great success,” the forecast says.

Oxes are weakest in their communication skills. They are not good at communicating with others, and even think it is not worthwhile to exchange ideas with others. They are stubborn and stick to their own ways.

Whatever.

The lunar new year takes on a bit different form in Vietnam, where they are now celebrating the end of the Year of the Rat, but the beginning of the Year of the Golden Buffalo.

“Welcome Year of the Golden Buffalo!,” according to one commenter. “Hope you drag us out of the Rat hole!”

The symbolism is a bit unfortunate, considering that the Year of the Rat in America ended with the celebration of another golden buffalo, the Qanon Shaman Jacob Chansley, one of the first to breach the U.S. Capitol in the Trump Insurrection.

Q, a New American Journal graphic by artist Walter Simon, depicts this golden calf of a Shaman of Qanon in his bison horn headdress, flying a flag with the slogan, “Quo unus nostrum it, eo universi imus.” The slogan is inspired by the coming of age at sea saga “White Squall” using a lame slogan from the Albatross ship’s bell, “Where we go one, we go all.”

Dog help us all.
